Description |
Black wool pillbox hat with veil and faux jewel medallion. Comes with note that reads: "World War II hats purchased in Denver. Black felt with fushia drapery inspired by French military hat of Gen. DeGaulle. Brown felt worn square on head. Black hat with veil and jewel medallion --early 1950s." Tag on the inside says that it is a size 22 and reads "Gage Brothers & Co. Since 1856. Chicago/New York." See Manufacturer's Mark. Stored in a garment bag with 0.19.311, 019.317 and 019.318 Comes in large, off-white hat box. The title is is blue which reads, "The Donver--Where Denver Shops with Confidence." Next to it is a blue columbine. In the upper left-hand corner of the box is tape that says, "Vintage Millinery, 1936 D.U. "beany;" WWII hats." |
