Found in the 3rd Floor Vault. Found the original donation form from 2013, from Mr. James M McCoy. He was a member of the American Legion Post #46. He was active in preserving history in all of Adams County. The Brighton Historic Preservation Commission would have been new, and his donation would have at the time, been a large contribution to the collection for one day creating a museum. It was discussed during the BHPC meeting and is in the minutes July 9, 2014, "Donation from the American Legion - Pat Reither The American Legion has a garage full of stuff that they would like to donate. There is a photo of Phillip Wade who was the 1st person who died from Brighton in WWII. There are scrapbooks and old minutes. If it is stuff that we can't take. maybe the Colorado Historical Society would like the information." Not only did we take it, we did have a donation form from the previous year in the donation and as a correction, BHPC minutes are inaccurate regarding Phillip Wade, he fought in WWI. |
