2019.033.001 - Register, Cash
An early 1900s McCaskey Cash Register, that once belonged to Archie Scott Leffingwell and was the original register from the Leffingwell Building on the north east corner of Bridge and Main in Brighton, Colorado, built in 1916. Small round clear glass jar, without lid, that once held ink. Found in the lower drawer of the Leffingwell Register.

Small open top pencil box found in Leffingwell Register bottom drawer. The box is holding pencils and other knickknacks (2019.033.004-011).

Six graphite pencils, four encased in paper. One is square while the others are round.

Three screws. Two long rods, one with a flat head screw top. Another is a larger flat head screw.

Small, square ended skeleton key. This type of key is usually found to be the key that opens treadle sewing machine drawers.

2019.033.007 - Knife
A wooden handled short bladed knife. The blade has a small makers mark with a three leaf clover with A.N.C. on each leaf, reading left to right. The other side of the base of the blade near the handle has black ink marking the number 35. The handles end is flat and pointed, to help fold envelope. Sometimes these items would be used as a scalpel.

2019.033.008 - Knife
Bone handled spear headed knife, used as a ink eraser. One side of the base of the blade has I-XL George Wostenholm [Sheffield England - covered by rust and paint]. The handle likely had a pearl coating originally as there are small traces near the blade. The tip of the handle is used to help fold envelopes.

2019.033.010 - Cutter, Bolt
One jaw head of a center bolt cutter. There is a knife looking end with two teeth just below and two holes in the stem/handle. One side of the handle has an indented oval with "NO.O.RIGHT" embossed in it. The other side has a similar oval with " 'NEW EASY' " embossed in it. That same side has "BOSTON MASS. U.S.A." near the knife edge.

2019.033.011 - Opener, Can
Paint can opener with "McMURTRY PAINTS" & "McMURTRY VARNISHES" on either side of the stem. One end looks to have a can opener/church key while the other looks like a flat head screw bent up on the other side. McMurty Paints is known to be advertised from about 1921 to the late 1960s. The church key style can opener was developed around 1935.

A long pointed object with hallow tubing the top half, and hole half way down, and solid tip. It has "THE WESTERN SEED Co, DENVER, COLORADO." stamped on it as well as "MADE IN ENGLAND". It also has a leather case it is kept in.

2020.003.001 - Hoe
A draw hoe with broken handle about a foot back. Draw hoex were used for breaking farrow, chopping out big weeds, breaking up large areas for early spring planting, hilling potatoes, and breaking up sod and soil. The head is metal and flat with a curved neck into a cone shape to attach the hoe to the wooden handle. The wood looks original and has mud and dirt still on it. It looks like a screw is securing the head to the handle.

2020.003.002 - Knife, Beet-Topping
A sugar beet knife was used for 'topping' 11" bladed knive with slight concave curve and a angled tip with a hook attached at the point curving upwards. Hook is shaped slightly like a cows horn. The handle has the initials 'CS' carved, same side as a sticker with the presumed price for a sale of $3.00.

2020.003.003 - Collar, Horse
A tear-drop looking collar made of leather, with straw and other padded material on the inside and a strap on either side to close. It is closed together from holes in the leather, then a leather string weaving in and out of all the holes.

Small primative wooden milking stool. Looks to be made from recycled wood from a wood crate. Held together with small nails.

2020.003.010 - Chair, Dining
A leather insert seat, with upholstry nails, on a 10 spindle backed dining chair. It has scrolls at either side of the top slat or ear. The stiles are square with 10 spindles between them. The leather seat is held on with uphosltry nails and wire lacing underneath. The side and cross strechers are midway up the legs. The front legs taper and have a slight turned out feet.

2020.013.001 - Curtain, Stage
A 18' 7.5" W x 9' 3" H painted canvas connected to a 1" x 4" board and metal tube with ropes and pulleys to roll up the curtain. This curtain has businesses from Brighton, Fort Lupton and Henderson painted on it, with a center image of a valley with a pond and road in the mountains. The curtain once was located at the Henderson Grange.
